Nexo Help
Everything you need to start nurturing your relationships.
Nexo is an app to care for the relationships that matter to you, not to manage tasks. Here we explain what it is, how it works and how to keep your data private and safe.
What is Nexo?
Nexo is an app to care for the relationships that matter to you, not to manage tasks. It helps you remember people: what you've lived together, what you want to live, the small details that make the difference.
It's also a place to keep what matters. Today the memories and plans that truly count are scattered across emails, chats and loose notes, and they get lost. In Nexo they have a home: gathered, safe and always within reach.
And it's a place to leave a legacy. Everything you keep about the people you love —the stories, the photos, the details— can accompany and reach those who come after you, like your children. What would be forgotten today becomes something that endures tomorrow.
It's yours and private: your data lives on your device.
The four tabs (and the save button)
Nexo is organized into four spaces, one for each "time" of your relationships:
- Today — your daily summary: birthdays, what's new in your family, loose ideas you jotted down and suggestions of who to reach out to.
- Plans — what's coming, with a date: a pending coffee, a call, a trip.
- Memories — your journal of what you've lived, in chronological order. This is where you relive moments.
- People — all your contacts, as a list or as a constellation that shows who is closest to you.
In the center, the Save button (+) captures three things:
- Memory — something that happened and you want to keep.
- Plan — something you want to do, with or without a date.
- Detail — a fact about someone: a like, a wish, something of theirs you don't want to forget.
Your own profile (Me) is always one tap away, on the avatar in the top right.
Sharing with your family
Nexo is private by default: nothing is shared until you decide.
You can create a group (for example, to follow a child's growth) and invite whoever you want with a link or a code. From then on, the memories and plans you share in that group reach all its members, each in their own app.
And no group needed: when you save a memory or plan, you can share it directly with the people you mention. No one is selected by default —there's a one-tap "Select all"— and it works even if that person doesn't use Nexo yet: they'll receive it once they join.
Each person has a role: those who only view (grandparents, aunts and uncles), those who also add their own memories, or those who manage the group. You control what is shared and with whom, and you can stop sharing whenever you want.
On any shared memory or plan you can react with a single tap —a heart, a laugh, a "can't wait!". It's the simplest way to respond without typing, and whoever shared it sees that their memory landed. Even someone who only views can react.
And when you want to say more, you can comment: every shared memory or plan has its own conversation thread to talk as a family about what you're keeping. Someone who only views can comment too.
Groups are also a way to build shared memory: by turning on care mode for a person (for example, a child), Nexo gathers their milestones, photos and moments in one place —a legacy that grows over time and that you can relive together.
Nex, your AI help
Nex is Nexo's smart help. It never decides for you: it gives you a starting point you can edit and make your own. It can help you:
- Write a message — a birthday wish or a few lines to reconnect, with the tone and length you choose.
- Prepare a get-together you already have scheduled — what to recall from your shared history and what to talk about.
- Think up a plan to do with one or several people.
- Suggest gift ideas based on what you know about that person.
Nex works with what you have kept about each person (memories, details, dates): the richer their profile, the better the suggestions.
You can choose how Nex works, in Settings → Artificial intelligence:
- On your device (free and private). The AI runs inside your phone: nothing you write leaves it, and it works offline. The first time, the model is downloaded once (it takes up space and runs a bit slower; better with your phone plugged in).
- In the cloud (faster, with Nexo Pro). It generates in seconds and uses no battery. It requires verifying your phone and having Nexo Pro. To create the suggestion, only the necessary text about that person is sent to our AI provider; it is not used to train models.
Nexo can prepare suggestions ahead of time in the background, so they appear instantly when you open someone's profile. And the AI features are optional: Nexo works fully without them.
Privacy and your data
Nexo is local-first: the home of your data is your phone. The server only syncs between your devices and with the people you share with.
- Some permissions, like contacts and location, make that data leave the device to sync. We always explain it before asking, and they're optional.
- You can make a full backup (Settings → Backup) and keep it wherever you want. If you change phones, you restore it and get everything back.
- When you open a photo or video full-screen, you can save it to your phone's gallery. From there, apps like Google Photos can back it up. It's optional and you choose what to save.
- You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Account), and with it all your data from our servers.
See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
